Charles  E. Maginn, Jr.

Charles ("Chuck") E. Maginn, Jr., 89, passed away on July 7, 2012 after recent visits with friends and family in Normandy Beach, NJ. His beloved wife of 56 years, Phyllis Ackerly of Montclair, passed before him in 2003.

Chuck was born in Orange, NJ and raised in West Orange. He and Phyllis lived in Glen Ridge for most of their adult lives, where they raised three children. They also had a summer home in Normandy Beach, where they created treasured memories with their loved ones and friends. Chuck most recently resided in Crane's Mill in West Caldwell.

He served as a Navy Pilot in both WWII and Korea, with honorable discharge as a Captain from the Naval Reserves. In 1950, Chuck graduated from Newark College of Engineering with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and earned an MBA from NYU in 1957. After a rewarding career at PSE&G, he retired as Vice President of Human Resources in 1988. He was also a Trustee at Kessler Institute and Wilpage until 2001.

Chuck is survived by his two brothers, Wallace A. Maginn of Yorba Linda, CA, and Robert A. Maginn of Centerville, OH. He is also survived by his children, Susan M. Wilbourn of Westminster, CO, Charles E. Maginn III of Little Falls, NJ and Barbara M. Vogel of Annandale, NJ, along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
