Regina"Gina" Gausepohl, of Brick, NJ, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. The funeral mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation is on Friday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m.

Gina was #9 of twelve children raised in the Gausepohl household on Thomas Street in Bloomfield, NJ. Gina earned a Bachelors in Nursing from Felician College, where she was an active member of campus ministry and was named "Woman of theYear" at graduation. Her nursing career spanned over 35+ years, with a specialization in cardiac care. Having personally experienced two open heart surgeries, Gina had a unique ability to empathize and connect with her patients and their families on a more intimate level.

A modern day "Florence Nightengale", Gina devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, friends, and others in need; helping was her passion and delight.  She had a love for Broadway, traveling, BarbraStreisand, and "The Sound of Music". She loved spending time at the beach and walking her beloved dog, "Oz". Gina's warm heart and vivacious laugh will be missed by all the lives she has touched.

She was predeceased by her parents, Horace "Bus" and Wanda Gausepohl, brotherDavid, sister Debbie, in-laws Phil and Judy and nephew David Jr. She is survived by her husband, Tom Parisi, her sisters, Karen McConnell, Mary Beth(Ted )Battaglia, Susan (Thomas) Bongiorno, Diane (George)  Karpus, and Lisa (Thomas) Gausepohl-Tarricone, her brothers, Jeff (Vicki), Greg, Kevin (Anita), Chris (Eileen), and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
