Dave Rubinstein
December 25, 1926 – May 13, 2017

Dave passed the torch and his legacy to the next generations on Saturday, May 13, 2017 following a newly-diagnosed illness of leukemia.

Dave was born in the Bronx, New York as the youngest son of Joseph and Manya Rubinstein. He is pre-deceased by his parents, his brothers Samuel and Irving, his first wife Carrie Marcus, mothers-in-law Nina Quitney and Carrie Acree Johns, and his son-in-law Henry Norman.

Beginning as a young man and continuing throughout his long life, he dedicated himself to his family. He worked tirelessly in a life of service, carrying on the progressive struggle for a peaceful world, and a just and equitable society. In his quiet, low-key manner, he was an inspiration and support to many, and especially young people.

Left to follow him and loving him forever is his wife of 40 years, Jean. Cherishing their father are his children: Ilene, Joan, Lynn, Talibah, Valerie, and Eric; sons-in-law Jim and Ian; his grandchildren Kevin and fiancée Diana, Brian, Eric, Chaz, Nina, and Anya as well as his nephews Steven and Robert. Especially welcomed and cherished in the final two years of his life is Dave's great-grandson Kevin Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy for his family, and to honor Dave's life and legacy, a donation to The New Weis Center for Education, Arts & Recreation in Ringwood, New Jersey would be appropriate and most appreciated. Information is available at their website: www.highlandsnaturefriends.org.
